For Men & Women

Islamic clothing serves as an expression of faith and adherence to modesty.

For Men:

  1. Men should cover the area between the navel and the knees at a minimum.
  2. Men are encouraged to dress modestly and avoid clothing that is tight or revealing.
  3. The typical attire includes loose-fitting garments such as long shirts (thobes or kurtas) and loose pants.

For Women:

  1. Women are required to dress modestly to preserve their dignity and promote a sense of humility and piety.
  2. Modest clothing should not be see-through.
  3. The basic components of modest attire for Muslim women include a loose-fitting clothes, ankle-length dress or gown (abaya or jilbab) and a headscarf (hijab) to cover their hair, neck, and chest.
  4. Some Muslim women also choose to cover their faces with a veil (niqab) or wear a full-body covering (burqa), depending on their personal beliefs and cultural practices.
